About Us

Jessica Renée Patterson, “Your Lawyer Friend“™, is a licensed attorney in the state of Texas.  She is passionate about helping others and servings her community. Attorney Patterson received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the illustrious Thurgood Marshall School of Law where she received a full academic scholarship and graduated with honors. In law school, Atty. Patterson served as a Student Body Class President, Student Body Senator, Academic Tutor, and Research Assistant.  Atty. Patterson received her civil and family mediation training and certification from the University of Houston. Along with managing The JRP Law Firm, Atty. Patterson serves as a Business Law Professor at Lone Star College.

Prior to practicing law, Atty. Patterson served as a special education teacher and educational diagnostician. Atty. Patterson credits her teaching experience for cementing her passion for helping others. In 2018, Atty. Patterson was recognized as a Shell Hero of Houston for her efforts in organizing assistance for local charter schools that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Atty. Patterson also holds a Masters’ Degree in Special Education from the University of Texas – Tyler. 

Atty. Patterson grew up in a military household where both of her parents served over 20 years in the United States Navy. Due to her military upbringing, Atty. Patterson has been fortunate to live all over the world including Japan and Hawaii.

In her spare time, Atty. Patterson enjoys traveling and taking on new adventures with her husband, two daughters, and their dog.
